How is made a Digraphe ?
The first step when you place an order is creating a 3D model of the entire Digraphe to ensure the optical illusion is perfect. This model is unique for each combination of names. It is then prepared so that the individual elements can be 3D printed.
Our pieces are crafted from PLA, a biobased plastic material derived from corn starch. The letters are then assembled onto a wooden base. You can choose between two options:
- French Ash Wood: A lighter wood, finely finished by a skilled cabinetmaker.
- Padauk Wood: Worked in our workshop, it offers vibrant red tones that brighten any decor.
A photo holder (a metal rod with a spiral tip for displaying a photo) can be added upon request.
The final product is carefully prepared for shipping, protected with cardboard supports and corn-starch-based packing materials that are compostable and eco-friendly!

The digraph Strength - Softness is a symbolic decorative optical illusion.
These words can describe traits that we recognize in a person we like, or qualities that we like in ourselves. Or even the alliance of two people each presenting one of these qualities!
If you stand one meter away from the digraph, you can look from the left to see the word STRENGTH and from the right to see the word SOFTNESS. You can also place the digraph in front of a mirror where you will see both words at the same time.
The letters of this digraph are made from a bio-sourced material called PLA, derived from corn starch. Each letter is assembled by hand on a French ash wood base with beveled edges. You will also find a photo pick, which will allow you to illustrate these two words with a photo of your choice.
All manufacturing and assembly of all parts is carried out in our workshop in La Roche-Sur-Yon, in Vendée.

Will it work for our own names ?
It is, of course, possible to use names or words of different lengths: More info here.
Compound names can also be used, with the hyphen "hidden" behind another letter to maintain the optical illusion.
However, we cannot include accents or cedillas. Names are therefore created in uppercase letters without diacritics.
